High Point Market Highlights from Rowe Furniture
Posted on 02 May 2011
This week we’ve gathered an ensemble of experts to help us highlight the top trends in furnishings this season! Today, Rowe Furniture give you its top trends and current favorites seen at High Point Market, the world’s largest furniture industry trade show.
Mid Century Modern
Perfect for apartment dwellers and smaller homes, the trend toward smaller scaled furniture continues to gain popularity. With sizes under 83 inches, small scaled sofas are an ideal fit for any sized room, especially apartments and guest rooms. The great update in this trend is the use of more color geometric fabrics, bold solids – and unique mini mod frame styles with wood or chrome legs.
London Calling
The trend of patchwork mixes unexpected patterns, like two plaids or layers of shapes, to create a look that is “flea-market chic.” Along with this eclectic chic, British themed fabrics have been worked into everything from pillows and sofas to large scale furniture pieces. The patchwork and the British fabrics complement each other, utilize fabrics in patchwork with tartans, plaids, navy and grays with accent chairs or ottomans in a flag or map fabric.
Color Fit for a King
Purple is everywhere in fashion and much like every other “it” fashion fave, purple has saturated home décor. This color is associated with royalty, nobility and romance but is also a fun way to create a sublte background for brighter décor items and unique fabrics.
