After Laura (Allen, that is) told me about her awesome find at JT Designs, I had to check it out. You won’t believe the amazing things they have to offer. With a cool, mid-century vibe, JT Designs has a vast assortment of antiques, consignment pieces and new accessories, along with a fabulous collection of jewelry.
I found this great light fixture for my dining room or kitchen–that’s yet another decision I have to make. From retro furniture to random dittys, they’ve got something to add a bit of fun in your house or office.
JT Designs is located at 2223 W. Markham Street in Little Rock, just in front of the Arkansas School for the Deaf and Blind.

I consider the removal of the painter’s tape the most rewarding part of painting a room. But it’s not so wonderful when you see that your paint has bled through the tape and your edges aren’t as clean as you imagined. If you are as picky as me, it’s time to throw away the oh-so famous "blue painter’s tape" and get some Frog Tape. Yep, Frog Tape. Frog Tape is a pro painter’s grade masking tape that has a special chemical on it called Paintblock that helps prevent the annoying paint bleed that happens with other masking tapes. Not only does it resist bleeding, it also keeps from tearing and gives you the crisp clean edges you deserve after all that hard work. Visit www.frogtape.com to place your order.

I’m what some may call a “font snob.” That’s just fine with me. I’m always looking for the perfect fit for our magazine’s layouts and even my own personal projects. I get so excited when a new Veer catalog comes to the office. Even in the middle of production, I drop what I am working on and emerge myself in the lovely serif and sans-serif delightfulness. There are so many options these days, it takes more time to find the perfect fit than color sometimes for layouts. You can even find the best ideas for invitations, stationery, cd covers, and any place you want words or numbers.
Next time you feel that Times or Helvetica just won’t cut it, check out veer.com and find yourself in font happiness. Trust me you will find your own personal font. It’s just waiting for you!
Cheers!

My first magazine subscription was Highlights. I would wear those issues out. They had the best jokes, games and random bits of knowledge. (Yes, I still grab an issue every so often. I won’t even mention my friend that gets even more excited for the picture puzzles.) This would eventually turn me into a “magazine junkie,” as we like to call it around here.
It seems to be the “pretty pictures” that always catch my eye. But I often wondered, who is behind that camera? How did they pick that shot? And that’s when I came to understand the mind of a photographer. Recently, I was in northwest Arkansas with photographer Brian Meredith on a shoot for our upcoming March issue (available this Friday). I turned the camera on Brian. Here’s a hint, photographers usually, like to behind the camera.
I just wanted to share with you a behind the scenes look at how that “pretty picture” got in the March issue.
