Dinner by Design benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure
At Home in Arkansas hosted a wonderful event on Friday, and I have to take a minute to brag on all the wonderful girls here at At Home. Every day we work hard putting together the magazine, whether it’s selling ads, getting the perfect photo for the story or finding just the right word. But for one night we traded in our computers, creative minds and number crunching skills to volunteer as servers at Dinner by Design. (The cute aprons were just a bonus.)
Presented in conjunction with the 2007 Build for the Cure Idea House, Dinner by Design was a private dinner for 26 in the Bella Rosa Estates home of Clint and Barbie Wilson. Chef Robbie Lewis of Velo Rouge Brasserie created a four-course menu for the evening, and after sampling Chef Robbie’s creations, I was definitely hooked. Believe me when I say the day the doors open, we will all be there to try more of his amazing creations.
The menu included:
Salad of Celery Root, Fennel and Pomegranate, Pecorino Toscano
Alaskan Halibut with Saffron-Braised Fingerling Potatoes, Broccoli Rapini, and Oven-Roasted Tomatoes, Picholine Olives
Beef Tournedos with Seared Foie Gras, Creamed Spinach, Turnips, and Caramelized Asian Pears, Sauce au Poivre
Apple-Almond Galette with Apple Ice and Caramel Sauce
